"Amaranthine" is a song by Swedish/Danish band Amaranthe from their first studio album Amaranthe. It was released as the third single from the album on 26 September 2011. It was written and composed by band members Olof Mörck, Jake E. Lundberg with Andreas Solveström also contributing for the lyrics.
The song was internally selected to represent Denmark in the forth edition of North Vision Song Contest. It competed in the second semi-final where it came fourth with 95 points and reached the final where it won with 175 points, marking Denmark's first victory.
Amaranthe were revealed as the fourth Danish representatives on 1 August 2013 with "Amaranthine" being presented as their song on 5 August 2013, in a press conference in Sweden. A few days later, The Hunger Tour was announced as the promotional tour for the entry as well as their first and second studio album, Amaranthe and The Nexus. Amaranthe performed in more than twenty countries including Sweden, Denmark, Russia, Norway and Germany.
Amaranthe performed twentienth in the second semi-final from where they qualified to the grand final, keeping Denmark's successful results. In the grand final, Amaranthe performed twenty-second. Denmark won the edition with one 175 points receiving the highest points from FYR Macedonia, Luxembourg, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Spain.
