FYR Macedonia debuted in the first edition. At first, MRT (Macedonian Radio-Television) revealed that there would be a national selection held to decide who will represent FYR Macedonia in the first edition of NVSC. But due to low interest and recent budget cuts, MRT canceled the national selection and instead the artist and song would be chosen internally. On the 21st of March, MRT revealed that popular Macedonian singer Martin Vucic would represent FYR Macedonia in the first edition of NVSC. 2 days later, MRT revealed that Martin will sing "Ništa Mi Nije Važno" in NVSC #1. FYR Macedonia finished 5th in Semi Final 2 in 5th place with 76 points and therefore qualified to the final. In the final, FYR Macedonia finished 18th with 70 points.
As MRT was very happy that FYR Macedonia qualified to the final in the previous edition, they decided they will be in second edition of NVSC. Like in the previous edition, a national selection was scheduled but had to be canceled due to a lack of funds. On the 13th of May, MRT revealed that Elvir Mekic would represent FYR Macedonia in the 2nd edition of NVSC. Elvir was originally going to participate in the national selection. On the 21st of May, MRT revealed the Elvir will sing "Armija" in NVSC #2. FYR Macedonia performed 7th in Semi Final 2 but failed to qualify finishing 20th (last) with just 15 points.
Despite the disappointing results in NVSC #2, MRT confirmed that FYR Macedonia will in fact participate in NVSC #3. On the 20th of June, MRT revealed that Esma Redžepova and Vlatko Lozanoski would represent FYR Macedonia with their song "Imperija" in NVSC #3. They will be participating under the name "Esma & Lozano". FYR Macedonia performed 12th in Semi Final 2 in 3rd place with 107 points and qualified to the final. FYR Macedonia performed 25th in the final and finished in 3rd Place with 162 points.
As soon as FYR Macedonia qualified to the final in NVSC #3, MRT quickly confirmed their participation for NVSC #4. For finishing in the top 5 in the previous edition, FYR Macedonia secured a spot in the final in NVSC #4 due to the big 5 rule. MRT announced that Dimitar Andonovski will sing his song "Ova Nebo Znae Se" for FYR Macedonia in NVSC #4. FYR Macedonia performed 21st in the final and finished 7th with 142 points. This gave FYR Macedonia's 2nd top 10 placing in a row.

Not long after NVSC #4 started, MRT quickly confirmed their participation for NVSC #5. Unlike in the previous editions, a national selection was held to decided the entrant for FYR Macedonia in NVSC #5. The name of the national selection is Pesna za Makedonija 01. 4 songs participated in two duels (also known as Semi Finals). The winner from each went on to the final. Juries from other NBU nations voted to decided the winner. The winner was Magdalena Cvetkoska Ena with her song "Ucam od najdobriot". FYR Macedonia performed 19th in Semi Final 1 and qualified to the final in 9th place with 73 points. In the final FYR Macedonia performed 22nd and despite finishing only 9th in the semi, FYR Macedonia managed to finish 4th with 157 points to give FYR Macedonia it's 3rd top 10 placing in a row and it's second top 5 placing.
Due to the rising popularity of NVSC in FYR Macedonia, MRT confirmed their participation for NVSC #6. MRT originally planned to host the second edition of their national selection Pesna za Makedonija, but had to call it off due to budget cuts and therefore they opted for an internal selection. On the 17th of November 2013, MRT revealed that Bobby Andonov would be the participant for FYR Macedonia in NVSC #6. The song was revealed on the 26th of November 2013. FYR Macedonia secured a spot in the final in NVSC #6 due to the big 5 rule. FYR Macedonia performed 6th in the final and finished 5th with 135 points. This gave FYR Macedonia's 4th top 10 placing in a row and 3rd top 5 placing.

Not long after NVSC #6 started, FYR Macedonia confirmed their participation for NVSC #7. MRT also announced that they will hold the second edition of Pesna za Makedonija. But they decided that it would be different then the first edition. They still decided to have 2 Semi Finals, but in each Semi Final, rather than have duels they decided to have 8 songs in each Semi Final. 4 songs from each Semi Final will qualify to the final. The winner was decided by juries from other NBU nations. The winner was Darko Ilievki featuring Magdalena Cvetkoska Ena with their song "Pepel".
North Vision Song Contests 8-10
After the 7th edition of the North Vision Song Contest no confirmation was made from FYR Macedonia regarding their participation. A news paper report during the 9th edition revealed that the HoD of MRT had fallen asleep for a long time. After this the HoD quit and a new HoD came in intime for the 11th edition.
As soon as the conformation period for North Vision song contest 11 started FYR Macedonia confirmed with a selection process called Proizvedeno vo MakedoniJa 01. The winner was Ako Me Boli by Dimitar Adnonovski but the Georgian Jury admitted Votes after the result has been announced, their votes made Znam win. The HoD then decided that Znam should represent FYR Macedonia at NVSC 11. Elena was drawn to perform 21st, dead last, in the second Semi Final. When the Results were announced Elena was not a qualifier. On the 14/12/14 the Full results of the semi Finals were announced and Elena finished 18th with 40 points, making FYR Macedonia in the Pre-Qualification Round 4
FYR Macedonia was the 7th country to officially confirm for NVSC#12. They originally confirmed with a 2nd Edition of PVM but it was cancelled. Instead an internal selection will be made. On the 10th of Dexember 2014 MRT announced that Bobby Andonov would represent Macedonia in North Vision Song Contest 12. However he will have to go through the PQR due to the 18th Place in North Vision Song Contest 11. After an instense show Bobby qualified to the semi Finals of the main competition being announced as the last qualifier from the PQR. FYR Macedonia was then revealed to Perfrom in the 2nd half of Semi Final 1 in position 19. On the 24th of January during the Live show, Bobby was revealed as the 3rd qualifier to the final. At the Allocation draw he was drawn into Position 2 in the Final. When all the qualifiers from Semi Final 2 were anounced, Bobby was the sole artist representing the ex-Yugoslav nations.
