Before going on to compete in the semi-finals, Iceland had to get through the pre-qualification round which was held in Rabat, Morocco. Iceland was drawn to perform 1st in the pre-qualification round, before Slovakia. After the votes were collected, Iceland was revealed as one of the 5 qualifiers. The country was then allocated to perform in the first half of the first semi-final, in slot #5, after Portugal and before Hungary. Iceland was not revealed as one of the 10 qualifiers, and so the country failed to qualify for the second time in a row. It was later revealed that Iceland came 7th in the pre-qualification round, and qualified mainly thanks to the Netherlands being disqualified for not voting. In the semi-final, Iceland came 15th with 53 points - placing 12th in the juries, and 18th in the televote.
