Of Monsters and Men Iceland took part in the third edition of the North Vision Song Contest which was held in Winterthur, Switzerland. Of Monsters and Men represented the country with their song King and Lionheart which was chosen by a national selection, organized by RÚV (Ríkisútvarpið), the Icelandic broadcaster.

Before North Vision[]

RÚV announced in June 2013 that they would participate in the third edition of the contest. The artist would be internally selected, with the song being chosen by a national selection. In late June of 2013, RÚV revealed that Of Monsters and Men would represent the country in Winterthur. A small national selection, Song for Of Monsters and Men was organized and started on the 30th of June 2013.

On the 30th of June 2013, RÚV started a national selection for the group entitled Song for Of Monsters and Men. 6 of their songs competed, and the voting was 100% poll voting.

At North Vision[]

Iceland was drawn to compete in the 1st half of the 2nd semi-final, competing in slot 9, before Estonia and after Sweden. Iceland managed to qualify to the grand final, and it was later revealed that Iceland came 2nd in the semi-final overall, with 117 points. In the grand final, Iceland competed in slot 2, after Serbia and before Andorra. Iceland placed 8th in the end, which was the second best result for the country so far.
