India in the East Vision Song Contest

India decided to participate in the EVSC as they wanted to show the world their wide variety of culture through the power of music. To date, India has appeared at the grand final three times - one time qualifying from the semi-final.

East Vision Song Contest 1: The Debut

India confirmed their debut in the first edition of the EVSC on the 26th August. Sahara One decided to internally select an artist and a song for their debut. On the same day as their confirmation, it was announced by Sahara One that Shakthisree Gopalan had been selected to represent India in the first edition of the contest. On the 27th August, Sahara One revealed that Shakthisree would perform her song "Voices" in the host city of Auckland. At the contest, India were drawn to participate in the second semi-final where, along with 14 other entrants, Shakthisree would have to compete for a place in the grand final. Qualifying in ninth place, India competed at the grand final where "Voices" ended in a respectable 17th place with a total of 42 points.

East Vision Song Contest 2

India confirmed their participation in the second edition of the EVSC on the 21st September. Sahara One decided to once again internally select an artist and a song for their second participation. On the 14th December, it was announced by Sahara One that both Shahid Kapoor & Sonakshi Sinha had been selected to represent India in the second edition of the contest. On the same day, Sahara One revealed that Shahid & Sonakshi would perform their song "Saree Ke Fall Sa" in the host city of Canberra. At the contest, India were drawn to participate in 27th position at the grand final where, along with 26 other participants, Shahid & Sonakshi would have to compete for the winning title. At the grand final, India ended in 21st position with their song "Saree Ke Fall Sa" where they received a total of 41 points.

East Vision Song Contest 3

India confirmed their participation in the third edition of the EVSC on the 12th January. Sahara One decided to once again internally select an artist and a song for their third participation. On the 3rd February, it was announced by Sahara One that both Yo Yo Honey Singh & Neha Kakkar had been selected to represent India in the third edition of the contest. On the same day, Sahara One revealed that Honey & Neha would perform their song "Sunny Sunny" in the host city of Seoul. At the contest, India were drawn to participate in 15th position at the grand final where, along with 23 other participants, Honey & Neha would have to compete for the winning title. At the grand final, India ended in a respectable 12th position with their song "Sunny Sunny" where they received a total of 53 points.

East Vision Song Contest 4

India confirmed their participation in the fourth edition of the EVSC on the 7th May. Sahara One decided to once again internally select an artist and a song for their fourth participation. On the 18th May, it was announced by Sahara One that Garry Sandhu had been selected to represent India in the fourth edition of the contest. On the same day, Sahara One revealed that Garry would perform his song "Chandri Raat" in the host city of Beijing. At the contest, India were drawn to participate in 8th position at the semi-final where, along with 23 other entrants, Sandhu would have to compete for a place in the grand final. Garry ended in 13th position in the semi-final, just 3 points away from qualifying to the grand final.

East Vision Song Contest 5

India confirmed their participation in the fifth edition of the EVSC on the 30th July. Sahara One decided to once again internally select an artist and a song for their fifth participation. On the 31st August, it was announced by Sahara One that Aishwarya Rai had been selected to represent India in the fifth edition of the contest. On the same day, Sahara One revealed that Aishwarya would perform her song "Crazy Kiya Re" in the host city of Taipei. At the contest, India were drawn to participate in 17th position at the second semi-final where, along with 18 other participants, Aishwarya would have to compete for a place in the grand final. Aishwarya ended in 7th position in the semi-final, qualifying to the grand final. At the grand final, India ended in a respectable 12th position with their song "Crazy Kiya Re" where they received a total of 98 points.

East Vision Song Contest 6

India confirmed their participation in the sixth edition of the EVSC on the 7th December. Sahara One decided to once again internally select an artist and a song for their sixth participation. On the 23rd December, it was announced by Sahara One that Sifar had been selected to represent India in the sixth edition of the contest. On the same day, Sahara One revealed that Sifar would perform their song "Dil Ki Sada" in the host city of Darwin. At the contest, India were drawn to participate in 15th position at the first semi-final where, along with 14 other participants, Sifar would have to compete for a place in the grand final. Sifar ended in 9th position in the semi-final, qualifying to the grand final. At the grand final, India ended in a respectable 19th position with their song "Dil Ki Sada" where they received a total of 50 points.

East Vision Song Contest 7

India confirmed their participation in the seventh edition of the EVSC on the 8th March. Sahara One decided to once again internally select an artist and a song for their seventh participation. On the 7th June, it was announced by Sahara One that Vishal Dadlani & Shivi had been selected to represent India in the seventh edition of the contest. On the same day, Sahara One revealed that Vishal & Shivi would perform their song "Lalla Lalla Lori" in the host city of Tashkent. At the contest, India were drawn to participate in 19th position at the semi-final where, along with 20 other participants, Vishal & Shivi would have to compete for a place in the grand final. Vishal & Shivi ended in 7th position in the semi-final, qualifying to the grand final. At the grand final, India ended in a respectable 6th position with their song "Lalla Lalla Lori" where they received a total of 117 points.
