Kazakhstan participated in the North Vision Song Contest 8 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their entry was once again picked through Heart Kazakhstan, a national final consisting of one pre-selection round and the grand final, organised by the national broadcaster, NTK. Dinara Sultan represented Kazakhstan with her song "Naydi menya", which failed to qualify from the first semi-final, placing 12th and scoring 58 points.
Heart Kazakhstan #2
It was announced that Heart Kazakhstan would return as the selection process of Kazakhstan for the second time, with certain changes in the format. For example, the introduction of a pre-qualification round.
Pre-qualification round
On 1 March 2014, NTK opened a poll (referred to as the pre-qualification round) on their site between 24 different songs to decide 14 songs that would pass onto the national final.

Final
The final took place on 24 March 2014 at the Kazakhstan Sports Palace in Astana, hosted by Diana Snegina. The voting procedure in the final was 100% jury voting.
Turkmen singer Myahri had been approved as the foreign act for the national selection, however, it was later revealed that her song was discovered to be a cover of Bulgarian singer, Andrea's song "Haide opa", and was thus disqualified.
