L.I.G.A is a Danish urban pop trio formed in 2012 made up of Nicky Russell, Feras Agwa and Ihan Haydar. They are signed to RE:A:CH (Chief 1 and Remee) and for distribution with Universal Music in Denmark.

Russel and Agwa had been separately writing and releasing a lot of tracks through their respective online channels and were sharing some tracks together. They presented some of their work to Chief 1, a Danish record producer and songwriter who joined them for a recording session in his studio. Coincidentally, Ihan Haydar was in the studio and volunteered to play drums and the trio was born. Their debut charting hit is "Skylder dig ik' noget".

NVSC 05

L.I.G.A entered the first edition of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, the Danish selection for the North Vision Song Contest, with their song "Skylder dig ik' noget". After qualifying from the second semi-final by getting the first place, they won the final with more than 15 points margin between the runner-up, Nik & Jay. As host of the edition and member of the big 5, Denmark was a directly finalist. L.I.G.A performed twelfth in the final and achieved the thirteenth place which was the best result for a host country, later achieved by the United Kingdom with the second place in the seventh edition

L.I.G.A had submitted their latest single "Julia" for the fifth edition of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. The song was chosen by DR and was announced as the fourth song of the selection on 10 June 2014. The song got the 7th place in the selection with 126 points; 4th in jury with 100 points and 9th in televoting with 26 points.

Members

  • Nicky Russell, frontman of the band, an Australian-Danish singer, songwriter and lead vocalist who writes most of the materials for the band.
  • Feras Agwa, (full name Feras El-Sayed Agwa) a rapper from Roskilde of mixed Egyptian-Syrian origins, also known as Sayed the Rapper
  • Ihan Haydar drummer and percussionist from Næstved of Iraqi origin. Born in 1993, she was previously a member of Soluna Samay backing band when Samay won Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 2012 and went on to represent Denmark in Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku with the Danish entry "Should've Known Better". Haydar, known with her drumming antiques performed with Samay in Baku in the finals.
