This was the second time Latvia hosted a selection, there were only 8 songs, but 5 songs qualified to a Semi-Final which due to the low interest in the country, it was made to be the Big Final of the selection. Samanta Tīna was the obvious winner of the selection as she was leading in every round. Unfortunally the winning song was a cover, and it got replaced by For Father instead.
