Unbeautiful (2008 - 2009)
Jive Records A&R Jeff Fenster noticed Roy’s work at HitQuarters,and agreed to jointly finance Roy's first album project. The debut album, titled Unbeautiful was released on September 30, 2008.According to Soundscan Unbeautiful sold 45,000 albums and 350,000 digital downloads. The album peaked on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart at #5. Her first single "I'm Gone, I'm Going" was the 48th most played song on Hot AC radio stations for the week ending June 24, 2008,then charted at #36 on Billboard’s Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks and #61 on Billboard's Pop 100 Airplay chart."I'm Gone, I'm Going" was the theme tune for MTV’s show Exiled, and was featured on an episode of The Hills. Roy appeared on FNMTV on July 18, 2008, to release the track’s video. "I'm Gone, I'm Going" was highlighted as a downloadable track in Rock Band 2. Her second single was "Unbeautiful", the title track from the album. It peaked on Billboard's Pop 100 Airplay chart at #39 and was also featured on an episode of The Hills. “Thinking Out Loud” was also featured on an episode of The Hills.
Focus on Song Writting (2010-2014)
As a songwriter Roy has experienced international success with releases for artist including Adam Lambert, Miss Montreal, Medina, Jana Kramer, and Marlee Scott.
Return to singing, Made in Ireland, and North Vision (2014-)
Roy announced via twitter that she would, once again, venture into singing. Over the course of the following days many fans speculated Roy would be an act for Made in Ireland 3; the speculations later turned out to be true, when it was announced Roy was attempting to represent her country with her song "I'm Gone, I'm Going". The song would go onto place 5th with 66 points.
Encouraged by her 5th place in the last edition, Roy once again applied to enter Made in Ireland and compete to represent Ireland in the North Vision Song Contest 9 to be held in Norway. Due to the new format of the selection, Roy needed to seek sponsorship from broadcatser in the NBU; the Danish broadcaster DR qere quick to select her, and it was decided that the song she would sing would be "Thinking Out Loud". On the 8th of June it was announced that Roy had won the contest to acclain from the Irish public, with a mere 4 point difference between her and the second place entry. Roy has since announced that the song would be acting from the lead single of the re-released version of her first album.
