Norway participated in the North Vision Song Contest 2 in Reykjavik, Iceland. The Norwegian entry was selected through an internal selection by the broadcaster of the country, Norsk Rikskringkasting (NRK). Carina Dahl represented Norway with the song "I Don't Care", which qualified from the second semi-final of the competition and placed 6th in the final with 124 points.
Norway confirmed the participation on 25th April 2013. NRK selected the entry through an internal selection. NRK first announced that the entrant would be announcd on 13th May 2013 and the song would be announced on 17th May 2013. On 13th May, NRK announced Carina Dahl as the chosen artist to represent Norway in the second edition of the North Vision Song Contest. Four days later, on 17th May, NRK presented the selected song. It was written by Carina herself, Elias Kapari & David Hedvall with the name "I Don't Care". During the press conference, Carina said: "I'm thankful that NRK selected me to represent Norway in the contest. I immediately accepted the offer as it is a chance for me to share my music and represent my beloved country at the same time".
The song received positive reviews and was considered as the one of the favorites of the edition. It charted well in countries such as Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Moldova and Sweden.
During the semi-final allocation draw, Norway was drawn to compete in the first half of the second semi-final. Norway performed sixth in the semi-final and qualified, placing 2nd and scoring 117 points while the country was announced as the fourth qualifier. During the qualifiers press conference, Carina Dahl chose to perform in the second half of the final and were later drawn to perform twenty-first. Norway placed 6th in the final, scoring 124 points and recieving 12 points twice - from Portugal and Hungary - with four points difference from the top 5.
In Norway, the semi-finals and final were aired on NRK1, with commentary by Per Sundnes while Ronny Brede Aase served as the radio commentator. The Norwegian spokesperson in the grand final was Stian Barsnes Simonsen.
