Norway in the North Vision Song Contest

Norway participated in the North Vision Song Contest 4 in Stockholm, Sweden. The Norwegian entry was selected through the national competition Den Norsken Sangen 01, organised by the Norwegian broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK). Norway was represented by the song "Come Inside Me" performed by Alexandra Joner. The entry qualified from the second semi-final and placed 16th in the final, scoring 93 points.

Den Norsken Sangen 01[]

On 13th July 2013, NRK confirmed the Norwegian participation in the fourth edition of the North Vision Song Contest. There were rumours that a national selection would be held for the first time. On 30th July 2013, it was confirmed that the artist who would represent Norway in North Vision Song Contest 4 would be internally selected but a national selection would take place to choose the song that would represent Norway in Sweden. It was the first time that NRK confirmed a project like this and would pay costs for the selection, so the expectations were high. Some hours later, it was announced that Den Norsken Sangen which means The Norwegian Song in English would be the name of the national selection for the chosen artist.

On 31st July 2013, the selected artist was announced. Alexandra Joner, Norwegian singer and dancer with Cuban roots was presented as the fourth artist to represent Norway in the contest. On 1st August, 3 songs fought for the right to represent Norway and "Come Inside Me" was the winner song written by Hitesh Ceon, Kim Ofstad and Yolanda Celini while "Sunrise" featuring Madcon was placed second and "Next To You" third and last.

The team arrived in Gothenburg on 12th August and the first rehearsal took place on 13th August in Scandinavium. During the semi-final allocation draw, Norway was drawn to compete in the first half of the first semi-final. Norway performed sixth in the semi-final and qualified, placing 7th and scoring 76 points while the country was announced as the first qualifier. During the qualifiers press conference, Alexandra Joner chose to perform in the first half of the final and were later drawn to perform eleventh. Norway recieved only one set of 12 points from Israel and placed 16th in the final ranking with 93 points, a quite average result for Norway despite the positive feedback the song had recieved.

In Norway, the semi-finals and final were aired on NRK1, with commentary by Per Sundnes while Ronny Brede Aase served as the radio commentator. The Norwegian spokesperson in the grand final was Tooji.
