History

Russia make their debute in the first edition of North Vision Song Contest.

North Vision 1

Russia Debuted in the very first North Vision edition. They sended Vintazh to represent them but sadly stayed in the semi final.

North Vision 2

Rumors around Russia said that they were withdrawing because of the bad place they ended, but that wasn't true. They send Pulse to represent the country but that wasn't the good choice they ended again 15th in the semi finals.


North Vision 3

This time there were no rumors. Russia was sure that they had a chance to reach the final once. And they did with "Mirror Mirror" from T-Killah & Vika Daineko. The became first in the Semi final and reached the 7th place in the final.


North Vision 4

Again it was sure that Russia was going to participate. They send SEREBRO. To Represent them. And again Russia didn't reach the final sadly. 

North vision 5

The participation is unsure after the results of the second semi final in the last edition. People want Russia to withdraw. But the broadcaster has confirmed their participation and didn't confirmed the rumors yet to be official. The rumors weren't true, and on august the 30th it was announced that Dima Bilan will represent Russia in the 5th edition.

There were rumors in Russia that Russia will withdraw, Later the were confirmed by an unofficial broadcaster. After that rossiya 1 respond that they will make it a court case. And going to talk with the NBU to make everthing clear. Because other Broadcasters want to do the participations to. Russia might be in 6. Otherwise it hasn't ruled out a participation in the 7th edition. On 26th of October Rossiya 1 has announced that they will participate in the next edition of North Vision. They Will decide their participate internally. The Russian Representative of Edition 6 will be ZEDD, That was announced on October the 29th, 3 Days earlier then expected. The Song will be announced on a later stage.

Lena katina ns

Rossiya 1 has stated that there will be a National Selection in the Future. That Might be in the 7th Edition. After that it was announced that Lena Katina will represent Russia in the 7th edition. And her song got chosen by a national selection called: A Song For Lena.


North Vision 8

After reaching the finals again they choose to let again ZEDD participate for Russia, but after all the broadcaster has to announce that ZEDD has already shows on these dates and it was later announced that Nyusha proudly will represent her country in the 8th edition. She reached 7th in the final with the most points that Russia has recieved.

Polina

Polina performing in the 9th edition.

After 8 editions choosen at least their Artist internally. There was a national selection called: "A Russian Sound". The artist that won the first edition was Polina Gagarina with her song "Shagay". She qualified for the final and gave Russia their best placing since their debut.


North Vision 10

After placing 5th in the final in the 9th edition, Russia is straight into the final this edition. They had announced a big national selection as runner up from the last selection. After budget cuts the broadcaster was forced to cut in the selection. After the second semi final the news came in that again the broadcaster needed to cut in the selection during the boycotts from the western countries so there were only 2 semi finals left and 1 final. The winner of the selection that will go to Bergen is Nyusha, she already had participated in the contest so it's not a strange stage for her. She will sing her song "Tol'ko...".

North Vision 11

Serebro

Serebro performing at their song presentation for the 11th edition.

On September the 23rd, Russia confirmed their participation for the 11 edition. They will choose their entry internally. Later it was announced that Serebro will represent their country for the 2nd time. This time they reached the final and got 7th.

North Vision 12

Soon after the 11th edition ended Russia confirmed their participation in the 12th edition. On January the 4th it was Announced that Russia will be represented by Yulia Savicheva she will sing her song "Nevesta" in Herning.

North Vision 13

On January the 18th, the Russian broadcaster had announced that they will participate in the 13th edition. More information will follow. On February the 15th it was announced that the last used national selection is going to make it's return. So the artist will be chosen due "A Russian Sound". The selection was won by Albina Dzhanabaeva so she will carry the flag from Russia this edition. On March the 28th when the results came out, She unfortunately didn't make it to the final.

North Vision 14

On April the 2nd, the Russian broadcaster revealed that they will be present at the upcoming edition. Later the broadcaster revealed that they had chosen Sergey Lazarev to represent their country in the 14th edition. On may the 30th it was announced that Russia go through to the final. When the results came out it was clear that Sergey placed fifth in the final! That means Russia doesn't have to participate in the semi finals in the upcoming edition and that it was the best result for the country together with the result off Polina Gagarina

North Vision 15

On June the 7th, the Russian broadcaster announced that they will participate in 15th edition. Later it was announced that the song will be selected internally. On July the 3rd, it was announced that there were 2 returning artists and 3 new artists were in a conversation with the broadcaster for participating in the 15th edition. On July the 11th, it was announced that Nyusha will represent her country for the 3rd time! She will sing "Gde ty, tam ya" in Copenhagen.

North Vision 16

On August the 4th, the broadcaster has announced that they will participate in the upcoming edition. The selection process will be spoken about before they announce something. On August the 18th it was announced that there will be a return of A Russian Sound. On Wednesday, September the 2nd it was announced that uzbek singer Sogdiana had won the selection. She will represent Russia with her song "Molniya" in Jeruzalem. She will preform her song in the grand final in October. When the results came out it was clear that Sogdiana ended up last in the final with only 38 points.

North Vision 17

On October the 8th, the Russian head of delegation announced that they will be present at the upcoming edition. Also was noted that the broadcaster isn't planning on withdrawing any soon. The selection process is still under consideration, after the success of lasts edition of A Russian Sound, they are considering the process for a fifth edition, also a new concept and a Internal selection are being discussed. On November the 8th, the broadcaster decided the day after the results that there won't be a national selection during the last place they've received in the 16th edition, with that known, it means that the song will be selected internal. On November the 27th it was announced that Egor Kreed will be representing his country in Zurich. Two days later it was revealed that he will sing "Nevesta" in the upcoming edition. After the semi final results it was known that Egor Kreed didn't make it to the final.


North Vision 18

On the 7th of January it was confirmed that Russia will be participating in the upcoming edition. On the 15th of February it was announced that Vintage will return to Northvision stage after 17 edition. The song will be preformed with one or two featuring dj's. The song will be chosen by 100% public vote. The selection "A Song For Vintage" will take place therefore. And for the 10th edition in a row the song will be preformed in Russian. The public chose Vintage feat. DJ M.E.G. & N.E.R.A.K. to represent Russia. They finish 16th in the grand final.

North Vision 19

Fast after the end of the last edition, Russia confirmed their participation. They chose to send a song internally, they chose Hanna to represent them with the song "Poteryala golovu". Unfortunately she "Poteryala golovu" reach the final. Soon when the results came in it was now she ended up 19th in the semi final. Meaning Russia's first PQR participation in the next edition.

North Vision 20

Firstly the broadcaster stated that they were planning to withdraw during the PQR participation, but soon after it was known that Russia surely was to participate in Albania. After it was known that Russia need to participate in the PQR, the submissions in Russia opened for artist to send in their song. After a few weeks it was known that not many artist were interested to do so. The broadcaster changed their plans and closed the submission. Discussed for a day and after opened the submission for local artists also with song in their own language or dialects. This change of plan was successful, because many artists wanted to show their culture and language on the international North Vision stage. The broadcaster picked the tatar group Bolgar Kyzlary to represent Russia in the upcoming edition. Unfortunately they didn't manage to qualify from the Pre-Qualification Round. They archived the countries worst results to date. They placed 8th (last) with 42 points

North Vision 21

After failing to Qualify from the PQR on August the 6th, A Russian article wrote that the delegation has shown interest in participating in the 21st edition. On the 30th of August, the Russian broadcaster has confirmed their participation. On October the 25th it was announced that LAYK.A will represent Russia in Prague. They will sing "0:1" in the second semi final. On 26th of November it was known that they could'nt bring Russia to the final for a third time in a row.
