The5 are a young and talented group of singers who originally auditioned for The X Factor Middle East as soloists. The5 are Ahmed Hassan from Egypt, Adel Echibi from Morocco, Kazem Chamas from Lebanon and the Algerian duo Said Karmouz and Mohamed Bouhezza.

In 2015, Kazem Chamas, Ahmed Hassan and Adil Echbiy auditioned as solo candidates for the fourth series of the Arabic televised singing competition The X Factor Arabia, whereas Said Karmouz and Mohamed Bouhezza (aka BMd) auditioned together. They were put together to form a five-piece boy band in Beirut, Lebanon, thus qualifying for the "Groups" category. Elissa and Donia Samir Ghanem, their future mentor, have both come up with the idea of forming the band.

The5, who were one of the most popular acts on the first live episode of The X Factor Arabia that was broadcast on April 18, talk to about their newfound game, adding a dance element to their performance, and the inevitable comparison to One Direction.

They finished second in the fourth series of The X Factor Arabia singing competition in 2015 and are currently considered the most popular boy band in the Middle East region.
